Title: Directory Permissions for /Files Directory?

Hi,

What are the directory permissions for the /Files directory so that files (cv, cover letter) can be uploaded/downloaded without problems and is there any security measures in place so that the files directory can not be viewed/files there present downloaded?

Hi Anthony,

The Files directory will have 777 Permissions for accept the uploads.

My users are having problems when they try to "download covering letter".

"Download CV" does not present any problem.

A file does download but when opened the text looks like this:
PK��Yd8�Ӂ�"��[Content_Types].xml��N�0E�|��m�8e�J��%tQ>�'��!�[ڿg��.P(�n"9s�=��"�*��)��k+��y��9�$��wP�# ....etc.

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Could you tell me with which version of Joomla you are working please?
