Title: Cyrillic 2
Post by: TODOR FINKOV on November 26, 2007, 03:29:09 PM
Hello, do you read the forum? Do you offer a kind of support - I had several questions since I bought your component NeoRecruit -- and still have no answer. Can I ask you to read my post: http://www.neojoomla.com/option,com_neosmf/Itemid,54/topic,411.0/

Do you have any idea how to publish job offers on UTF-8, Bulgariam. It seems the chars sent to DB can not be UTF-8 encoded!!???

Hello Todor,

Can you tell me what's the charset in your database?

Regards,

Hello,

sure I can.
The charset in our DB is UTF-8 general collation. I am using UTF-8 to encode bulgarian language texts.

Thanks!

Best,
T

Hello Todor,

Could you send us a bulgarian language file please, in order to have some examples of data to display and insert in the database?

Regards,

You are kidding me! A week passed since we (me and a coder) are trying to run NeoRecruit using UTF-8. For now – there is no solution from you, as well. Please, don’t waste a time to ask me to paste you some UTF-8 text, because this is funny! Half of the web uses UTF-8s’ which are not Latin.

I am deeply disappointed by what I discovered NeoRecruit is. Also, the support you provided was not even fair. I can not comment coding skills you guys have; however writing HR-component requires a lot more knowledge than coding.

If you have money-back policy, please provide me with further information.

Hello Todor,

First at all, I didn't ask you "some UTF-8 text", but the Joomla bulgarian language file. Half of the web maybe uses UTF-8 texts, but we can't find this language file everywhere, especially when we don't speak bulgarian.

Secondly, you have the possibility to test the component on our demo website and download an evaluation version before purchasing. So, saying you discovered only now what is NeoRecruit is not really "fair" (as you said) from you. Rather than criticize our knowledges, I think it would be more contructif to tell us what features you think are missing in this component, in order to improve it in future versions.

However, I finaly found a Joomla in bulgarian (thanks for sending me the file), I modified the component and I think I found a solution. I send you the component by email.

The support we provide is maybe not even "fair", but we do our better to help the NeoJoomla users, even if they are disagreeable.

Regards,

Hello Raphael,

The lang file in Bulgarian works OK. The wrong chars were from DB.

I did help, I think by extensively explaining what my proposals were regarding new fields, etc. And that is OK. I think I red it somewhere on your page, but I might be wrong that the component is UTF-8 compatible.

The Bulgarian Joomla site is http://www.joomla-bg.com/ I will send you the translated Bulgarian language file, please provide me with e-mail. I will be happy if you include that file with your future versions of NeoRecruit.

And, THE COMPONENT WORKS FINE NOW. NEED TO TEST IT FULLY, BUT WHAT I SEE IS OK!
THANKS MUCH! I REALY DO APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORTS!!

Best,
T
