Thanks for giving me this opportynity to post for this category and give out some of my ideas on this.

1: User Registration from joomla added into neojoomla as a candidate who will be eligible for newsletter of new added jobs
2: Separate Registration for Employers who want to post jobs.
3: Users registered(candidates) will be able to upload/update their Resumes/Covering letter.
4: Easy news letter management.
5: Employers can browse candidates CV/Resumes. Contact them on paid basis.
6: With nice SEO urls Titles.
7: Users will be able to apply for posted job when the click on apply button.
8: All CSS driven taking very little DB queries, I will be wiling to pay another 65$ for nxt upgrade without even a hitch, If above added to neojoomla, Even though I have bought this but I'm not using it since it does not suite www.freshershome.com jobs for freshers site.

Thank for your great software. Still needs some tuning though... I have to requests that I consider urgent:

1. A field for latest application date.
2. Add the field for "job begins"

That's it.

Cheers,

Chris

would it be possible to include rss feeds?
both ways: save jobs from rss feeds and produce an rss feed with jobs

Hello
Producing RSS feeds will be available in the next release. What do you mean by saving rss feeds? Import rss feeds in NeoRecruit?
Regards

Hi Fabian,
thanks for a quick reply (:

importing rss feeds in neorecruit (ideally automatically) would probably have an effect on neorecruit as a whole (categories, posting permissions etc).
would it be possible to include either an option to make it possible to import rss feeds and/or configure the input of rss feeds or another way of more automatically saving the contents of an rss feed to new job postings?

I hope i didn't make it more complicated...

I just tried the new version of Neorecruit and must congratulate you to a major improvement. Haven't tried the application side yet, but I am very hopeful... Just one thing: You should include an application deadline (before date).

Thank for your great software. Still needs some tuning though... I have to requests that I consider urgent:

1. A field for latest application date.
2. Add the field for "job begins"

That's it.

Hi,

I just posted this to the genreal discuss forum. I did not see until now:

I was wondering if I had a client that wanted to use NeoRecruit for more than one application on the same site. For example, they want to create a job bank. NeoRecruit is an obvious solution. But I can see them asking if NeoRecruit can be applied to managing article submissions for their magazine for diferent editors. The editor would post the story type they are looking for with all direction they care to give and then solicit stories from their audience or a group of writers.

How difficult would it be to run 2 copies of NeoRecruit or could NeoRecruit be split by categories so these areas can be completely separated?

Sincerely,
Mike

Hi,

I can read some nice little features to be added. Here is another one.

Can we have each job category linkable individually. So we can display each category separately.

Is there a road map for NeoRecruit? when is the next release schedule?
I can't wait to see some of these changes implemented. It's a really nice extension.

cheers

julien

Bonjour,

It would be nice if you could upload a file with a job offer, so you can link a flyer or poster, or perhaps even a flash banner to this certain job offer.
Also perhaps an option to distribute different categories across different pages and to select the number of offers displayed per page.
Don't know if this is too much to ask, but that would really be a great improvement!

Is it in any way possible to include offers in the joomla search function btw?

Oh yeah and perhaps you could post some translation files on this site.
I've translated the english.php to dutch so if anyone needs it I can supply it.

I think it would also be better if the latest (newest) job offers are shown first in stead of last in the list of offers. Or an option to choose for yourself.

Sorry if i'm being demanding.. ;)

I would buy neorecruit immediatelly if it could do this:

- users can post job offers
- CB integration (a tab in Cb that shows the job offeres of each user so they can easily access and administer their job offers from cb profile and so that other users can see his offers)
- categories folders of jobs
- advanced search function for all available fields
- job offer expiration date so the job offer is automatically unpublished after a specific time or date.
- custom fields (like city, province, priority, etc...)
- module to show joboffers by "city", "expiration date", "latest" etc...

can u help me?

Title: Re : NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Raphael on April 16, 2007, 09:29:03 AM
Hi Fabs,

- the component allows users to post offers and adminstrators to manage offers in frontend.
- NeoRecruit isn't compatble with CB for the moment, and it isn't planned yet.
- the offers are organized in categories.
- the search function doesn't exist for the moment, but that's planned for a near relaase.
- the offers can be published or unpublished, but not automatically, and that's a good idea. I think that will be possible in a next release too.
- fields like city or province ever exists, but anyone is customizable for the moment.
- the component NeoRecruit is provided with the module NeoRecruit latest offers, which allow to publish a selection or most recents offers, or the first ones according by offers ordering, set manually.

Regards,

can u make community builder integration as custom development?

thx

Post by: Raphael on April 17, 2007, 09:06:43 AM
Hi Fabs,

Users can manage their own offers in frontend, and only their own.
And administrators can manage all offers in frontend.

Community Builder integration is possible, but that will be difficult to do in nearly days...

I would love to see a categories module.

I may not have purchased the product if I had realised earlier that categories are not well managed, otherwise the product is GREAT. Simple category browsing is vital though!

Is there a way to display "Location" on the front end "offer list array". this would go a long way untill a more robust search is created.
BTW is there a seach feature in the works? Search by catagory, position, location, pay etc.

How is the new version coming?

I will buy the product if I have a module that can be published on the front end that allows for

Search | Search by Category | Search by Location

Currently that is the only thing preventing me from purchasing it.

hello,

Yes, it would be great if NeoRecruit had a standard Offer publish duration in global settings and a facility to do a start publish and end publish date and the end date defaulted to duration. Also Job Beginning should not be the same as the publish date since usually recruitment is done for a future job.

Title: Re: NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Troy Borja on August 06, 2007, 02:39:13 PM
Hello,

I hope you will consider some of these features:

1) Have an option to choose whether to allow Manage Offers or Manage Applicants separately in the front-end. This will allow us to manage job posting as a paid service from the back end if the user cannot create a job offer in the front-end.

2) Have a function to notify the owner of the Job Offer (an email address for every offer) to alert them when an applicant applies to the users offer.

3) As an alternative to no. 2, have the applicant information emailed to the offer owner rather than storing them on our servers.

4) If i had CB installed, why cant I apply to an offer using my CB profile? I think this would provide easy integration with CB. ex. Job Offer -->> Application <<-- CB User Profile, where the application will contain the pointer to CB User Profile. I also think no hacks would be needed on the CB end of things.

5) Is there a way for us to make code modification or maybe help out. I believe with more people working on this, you will get a better product.

btw, I already purchased NeoRecruit but am holding off on releasing the job site until some of the changes can be made ao we can do a paid service.

Hello Troy,

NeoRecruit has ever a notification function, to alert the offers owners and send them all the applications details, with the CV and the corevring letter as attachments.

And yes, if you bought the component, you can then edit the source code.

Hello Raphael,

It was my mistake, NeoRecruit sent the offer contact an email notification of the job application but the CV and the Covering Letter where not attached, although the record in jos_neorecruit_candidates has entries in cv_file and ml_file . I checked out the code in front.application_save.php and there is an IF statement to choose whether the attachments should be sent. Where and how can this be set?

   if ( ini_set('memory_limit','16M') )

Title: Re: NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Raphael on August 08, 2007, 03:27:33 PM
Hello Troy,

The IF statement allows to check if the memory limit can be increased or not, in order to join attachments. If it can't and if we try to send the email with attachments, the offer responsible will not receive anything, wether applications details, nor attachments.

You should search why the memory limit can not be increased on your server.

Regards,

Title: Re: NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Troy Borja on August 09, 2007, 08:41:30 AM
Hello Raphael,

The memory limit in our hosting service is only 8M. I will try to modify the limit to 8M and see if the attachments are still emailed. May I ask why 16M is required when the attachment limit is only 2M? If the CV and Covering Letter are both 2M then this totals 4M. Isn't the memory needed of 16M set too high?

Title: Re: NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Raphael on August 10, 2007, 05:30:18 PM
Hello,

Yes, you can edit the code and try to just set the memory limit to 8M. The attachments totals limit is 4M yes, but it is possible that the memory wasn't empty before the mail was sent.

Raphael, love the product. After a few hiccups on installing is now working well. I have a few queries, wishes. Is it possible to have Sub Categories dispaly in alphabetical order in the front end, as they do not appear to be, even if i order them in the Components, NeoRecruit Categories backend menu, and also in the Menu, Neo Recruit Categories in the back end.

Also in the Component, NeoRecruit, Categories backend menu sub category names apear as
. L Accounting Instead of Accounting. I have not been able to find a fix for these as yet

Many thanks

Hi Raphael!
Some suggestions/ideas

1) Is it possible to publish the offer without the form to apply for the offer? I mean i dont want ppl to apply with a form, just read the offer and apply with external mail program
2) "Publish Start Date" - "Publish End date" for the offers? If i have 50 offers i cant unpublish manually.... At the job lists
3) have a field for companys logo and use it next to the title of offer at the table where all the offers are listed?
4) fields to fill free or with money, for example, if user wants to show his logo it costs 5euro, company details 10euro e.t.c. and when he submits at the end, it shows total cost, website owner's bank account details to pay for the submit and paypal button(opens paypal to pay and shows "Payment for ID XX where XX is the ID of the content)

Title: Re : NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Raphael on January 31, 2008, 09:29:07 AM
Hello George,

1. We need this application form, because with an external mail program, we could not save the application details in the database. But we will maybe add a field "email contact" in the offer details, like this the candidates will be able to contact directly the recruiter for more infomations about the offer.

2. That's a good idea yes, we will certainely add this in the next release.

3. We will add 2 entities in the next release : recruiter and company. Like this, the recruiters will not have to enter their informations for each offer, they will ba able to save a recruiter profile, and a company profile. And it will ba possible to create several recruiters for one company.

4. It's not planned for the moment, but maybe in a next release?!

Hello,

- I think it's a MUST that a administrator can push a unsollicited application to a job offer so the company can see the candidate in their overview.
- Is there a simple way to add a counter which shows the number of jobs per catergorie like this:
Catergorie 1 (34)
Categorie 2 (12)
etc.

Hello Jasper,

You want an administrator will be able to link an unsollicited application to an offer? But I think some applications should stay "free" and unlinked to any offer. We could add a option so that some recruiters can see these applications.

And we will certainly modify the categories module to add a counter yes, and maybe some others improvements.

Hello,

No the problemm i had was that someone sended in a resume to apply for an job but not with the form provided by the job offer.
So i want to transfer the applicant towards the specific job so the company can see it in their screen.

Jasper

Title: Re: NeoRecruit - Your ideas, your wishes, your needs...
Post by: Raphael on February 18, 2008, 01:31:33 PM
Yes I understand Jasper.

But the unsollicited applications can be totally independent of all the offers. The best solution would be to add an option "Unsollicited applications" in the offers list. so that any recruiter can view these applications.

We will look at this in the next version of NeoRecruit, actually in development.

Title: create a job application
Post by: John Hughes on February 19, 2008, 02:21:33 PM
Greetings,

Great component.

We need the ability to create a custom application for the job seeker to fill out. In the U.S. just about all job applications have questions about if a applicant has been convicted of a crime, is involved in substance abuse, has defrauded the government (for some employers), is a US citizen, or is a convicted sex offender.

This would also help in unsolicited job applications as you could create an application that asks what shift they can work, etc....

Also a field that asks best time to contact them.

The Joomla component Registration Pro allows you to create a variety of registration forms which you can then apply to different event registrations. This would be a great way to work it with your component.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

I have another question and may be the last: If I have all the offers listed on the frontpage in their categories and I want the visitors to see all the offers(jobs) but as soon as the user clicks on an offer(job) link on the listed ones, I want him to register first before seeing the job description and all the other details. This is to say I want the registered users only to be able to see the offers details but I want the public unregistered users to see the ones on the frontpage only without details. Is there anyway to do that throught the component or do I need a third party component?

Thanks a lot for support

Hello Abbe,

It's not possible to do that with the current version of NeoRecruit, and I don't think there exists any third party component to do it. This particular need that will require some custom developments.

Actually, you can put some offers in registered access, but the unregistered users will not see them in the offers list.

Hello Andrew,

I'm sorry, but we don't have this kind of showcase. But we can open a new topic if you want!

Hey Guys,

I purchased NeoRecruit a little while ago and got version 1.4.4 and I would like to know when the next release is as my client is wanting to be able to add additional fields to the job applications other than study levels etc. we need not only a couple either. I do not want to edit the hell out of the code because I do not want to risk stopping upgrades from working etc.

Please provide a date of release so your loyal customers waiting for this functionality can rest in knowing it is getting closer.

Hello Ben,

The next release (NeoRecruit 1.5.0) should be released before this summer.

We will then develop a version for Joomla 1.5.X.

I would like to see a real tutorial (maybe even a video tutorial) posted ASAP that actually walks a person thru the whole recruit process from posting a job, receiving a resume, putting out an offer, and deleting the job. I installed NeoRecruit for a client and now he wants me to build a tutorial for a product I did not create. :( ???

Hello,

You can actually use :
  • • the full description of the component (http://www.neojoomla.com/en/produits-joomla/extensions-joomla/neorecruit-20070716125.html),
  • • the live tutorial (http://www.neojoomla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=124&Itemid=69).

A new tutorial (PDF) will be added to the next version of the component (NeoRecruit 1.5).

Regards,

Not to sound snippity or anything, but you call that a tutorial ??? That just says how to install it, add the link a and basically what each thing does. A tutorial is a walkthru of how to do
something like this:
http://demo.rockettheme.com/sep07/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=38

notice it has steps with number and clearly explains or this which is a video of actually showing you how-to:
http://tutorials.rockettheme.com/video/logo_editing/logo_editing.v1.1.html

these are tutorials!! My clients can use them and they work (no not sure from rocketheme. I just choose them as an example. I also make them for the place that I work.

Something like these would really help a person to see what to do. Just my input.

Hello,

It's right the actual tutorial could be more complete, a new full documentation will be added to the next version 1.5.0.

In the meantime, if you have any question about the installation or the use of the component, you can post your questions on this forum or contact us by email.

Regards,

Hello

Maybe an idea, i lost all my data after upgrading but is it possible that ther is a "knob" where you can deside to let the data on the mysql database or not?

Or deliver the software as a full and upgradeversion!

And last, where can i set that i get a mail when someone is reacting in this forum?
Thanks
Erick

Hello Erick,

I just modified your account so that you be notified when somebody is reacting your messages.

And I'm sorry you lost your data, the upgrade process was maybe not clear?

If you don't have a lot of data in your database, the easiest solution is to uninstall your current version and then install the new one. But this solution will delete all the files on the FTP server and all the tables of the component in the database.

And if you want to keep your data, you can just replace the files of the old version of the component on your FTP server. And if never there are some modifications to do on the database, we provide you with a patch to update it.

Hello Paul,

Yes, that's a good idea, and it's planned! Not for the next months, but certainly for 2009.
