Hello, the component is nice, not rich of functions but, saves time. Good job! Few proposals:
1. Type of company/organization should be added, just after the company-name field -- extra field.
2. Choosing language file from the back-end.
3. Town/Region/Country -- make it choosable from combos or multiselects.
4. Position level field would be useful.
And the UTF-8!
Talking about UTF-8 -- I would need some help -- I have the same problem described by some russian guy here in the forum. Do you have the solution by yourself? I have wrong chars displayed -- these one I enetered from the front end and some from the back-end. I have successfully translated language.php file.
Waiting for your response!
Regards,
T

Hello Todor,
Can you tell ma what's the charset in your database?
Thanks for you proposal, but could you give us more details:
1. What do you mean by "type" of company? Could you give us some examples please?
2. The language file is selected according to the language defined in the configuration of your site. Why do you want to be able to change it?
3. Add select lists for the countries, regions or towns could be a good idea for a next version of the component, but it means that the admin will have first to add all the options (all the countries, the towns, ...) from the backend. And if never an option is missing, it will pose a problem...
4. Wat do you mean by "position level" ? Could you give us some examples please ?

1. Well, basically companies submitting job offers could be two types – HR-agencies and Any other company offering a position directly by itself. Having an option to know which one is providing the particular job position will give more information to the applicant – i.e. The Company is looking to hire, or HR-agency is looking to hire for the company – as this may reflect not only the contract offered, but many other tangibles, and intangibles associated with the job.
2. Lang. file – you are right.
3. Choosing a country and city/region might not be useful all the time, however it provides some flexibility – i.e. some multinational French company may post a job opening for its branch in Sofia, Bulgaria. In such a case it will be useful to state that the job position is located in Sofia, Bulgaria by the French company…
4. Position level – say managerial position with / or without executive function.
Best,

Ok, all is clear now.
We'll add some fields in the form for the next version of NeoRecruit, and we'll let the administrator choose to display or hide each one, and set them as required or not. He will be able to add and remove the options too.

The problem appears only with the values from the database, or with the values from the language file too?

Hello,
the characters from database are wrong, the characters from translated language file are OK! Do you need more info? It seems, that the script that inserts the chars into the DB damages them, or not?
Website works OK with UTF-8, translated lang. file of your component as well, however, the text that is inserted into the DB shows up with wrong charset.
Do you have any solution!?
