For the first article of this category dedicated to Search Engine Optimization of Joomla! Websites, I propose to list the good practices to optimize your site.
We begin simply but effectively ;)
1] Create content !
You will never have a good positioning without qualitative and pertinent content. So don't hesitate to create new articles or news pages whenever you can!
2] Choose your keywords.
Made a list of ten keywords you wish to see on the various search engines. You can forget the keywords of the kind cars or
travels is a quasi impossible work.
3 ] Meta tags.
Even if they count much less than before, the meta tags
remain essential. It is imperative to set up
them and to complete them carefully. You can create some via the administration of your Joomla! for each page/article. Use the tags robots description keywords and revisit after (where you can us the value 14 what corresponds to announce to the search
engines that they can visit your site every 14 days).
4 ] Obtain backlinks.
One of the most important things for your optimization is the number of links
(backlinks) which point towards your site. You can obtain some
by creating partnerships or by registering you on directories. For
the latter, take care to choose only directories with hard
links (of the kind: http://www.monsite.com) because Javascript redirection is not taken into account by the search engines. Also create
your links in the following way:
short description of your website
and not :
http://mywebsite.com
The text of your links is taken into account by search engine, you have to use it!
I will list in another article a thousand of good directories in order to have backlinks.
5] Page titles.
They are very important, you have to place your keywords, without repeating them. It's the HTML tag.
By applying these councils, your optimization starts well :D
You have to know that search engine optimization is a basic work and that it takes several months before obtaining the first results. |
